Ways To Freshen Your Living Room While Sticking To A Budget

Spring is here and you may want to freshen up your home. Maybe a remodeling project isn’t in your future right now and that’s okay. You don’t have to completely overhaul your living room. If you want a new look, you can freshen up your living room while sticking to your budget.

Try Some New Throw Pillows or Blankets

Make your living room feel more inviting by replacing the throw pillows and covers. Pick a few of your favorite shades. You can also choose navy blue, emerald green, aqua, or white, and build your living room around that.

Think about the palette that you currently have in your home. Limit your color choices to just two colors as too much color can overpower your room.

Dress Up Your Furniture

Getting new furniture can be expensive. Fully re-upholstering or getting slipcovers for your furniture can also break the budget. Instead, buy one or two throws in solid colors. You can transform an old couch or sofa by adding a beautiful sea foam or white throw. Lay another one across the couch if it’s a sectional.

Wash Your Windows

Washing windows sounds like a chore, but you’ll be happy that you did it. It’ll brighten up your living room and make the room look different. Your windows will shine and everything will seem brighter.

You can hire a professional to do the job for you. You can also take it on yourself with a few inexpensive cleaning supplies. It also wouldn’t hurt to clean the windows in the other parts of your home.

Update With a Fresh Coat of Paint

A simple way to update your living room while on a budget is to take on a paint project. Consider painting your room white since it goes with everything. Don’t use a bright white though. Warm white is inviting and soothing.

If you want something other than white, paint your ceiling a different color. Use lively colors such as soft orange, pale green, light gray, or light blue. Any of these colors will transform your ceiling and make it feel less like one.
