My name is Bob Shelton. I live in Loudoun County’s brand new development One Loudoun. My wife Jennifer and I have four girls and a baby boy and are enjoying all the joys of being parents.
I grew up in Alexandria, VA and graduated from Mary Washington College in May of 1997 with a B.S. in Business Administration. While working my way through college I spent my summers working for University Painters as a painter, foreman, Franchise Manager and Quality Assurance Manager. I also have years of Sales and Account Management experience. I’ve been working with University Painters now full time since 2009.
Some of my personal interests include baseball, golf, movies and spending time with my family. Since 2002 I’ve played on two different competitive men’s baseball teams here in the DC area.

Excellent experience from start to finish. They gave us a great quote to paint the outside of our house. Very competitive with other companies but all of them had add ons that they would not quote until after they did the work. Once agreed they showed up on schedule and did the repairs around windows and painted trim and house. Even changed a light bulb for us that was two stories up. They did not try to add on any extra charges and did a great job. I would absolutely recommend them again.

Manuel and the team exceeded expectation! When they encountered unanticipated rot on a garage door that they were going to paint, they quickly set to work rebuilding the lower portion of the garage door. The results were impressive. I would highly recommend them.

There are several branches (franchises?) for University Painters in the DC area. Some have iffy reviews; I chose the one based in Falls Church area, near me. Great choice, as they were prompt with their estimates, helpful with their first and then regular walk-thrus as well as the projects themselves. I initially contracted with Manuel to paint my entire indoors. He and his crew did a thorough job & I soon realized that they are expert handymen for virtually any home improvement project. They provided a massive make over of kitchen, bathrooms, living areas. They are reliable people for plumbing, electrical and even design concepts. I was glad that I found Manuel's UP and would use them again. AAAAA+++++

The price was better than the 3 other quotes I received. Scheduling was very flexible. The Contract they make is so simple, uncomplicated, but yet very precise and covers everything clearly. No long winding legal junk mentioned in there. Their awesome crew was so professional, so skilled and so focused on the job. Completed the job well in time and with great attention to details. I also have the owner's personal promise to fix anything that I notice was not perfect later on. Very pleasant experience working with them.
